Portable Dishwashers
Portable Dishwashers combine space-saving design with the convenience of portability. These unique dishwashers have been engineered to offer full-size performance, yet are compact in size, making them ideal for small kitchens in your home, condo, cottage or office. They can clean up to twelve place settings at once and typically have an adjustable upper rack for added convenience. Other advantages include super-quiet operation and low water consumption. Easy to use, these dishwashers connect to any kitchen sink with the included sink adaptors.
Dishwasher Basics
Portable dishwashers are basically of two types: freestanding and countertop. While the former is more or less similar to the traditional dishwasher, the latter may sit on your kitchen counter. The market is full of a wide range of portable dishwashers – you can certainly choose from them the model that suits you best. There should be no problem even if your kitchen is very small.
Portable Countertop Dishwashers
Countertop dishwashers pack just as much cleaning power as their standard full-size counterparts. Like full-size models, the countertop dishwasher utilizes powerful water jets that remove food particles and sanitize dishes. However, contrary to the full-size models, countertop dishwashers use less water and detergent, and often have significantly shorter wash cycle times.
Compact size models are perfect for situations where you need a dishwasher but cannot spare the cabinet space to install a built-in unit. Also, if you have a home, apartment, or small business that has trouble filling a full-size dishwasher, a countertop or portable dishwasher may be the perfect solution for your cleaning needs.
More often than not, countertop portable dishwashers are about the size of a large microwave. These devices can typically hold four place settings and have a basket or holder for flatware. Countertop dishwashers are available in two types: (1) the more familiar and effective one that runs on electricity, or (2) one that relies fully on water pressure that uses the sink to power the dishwasher. Portable dishwashers relying on water pressure are okay if the pressure is sufficient. However, electric dishwashers contain built-in water heaters, which save energy and clean dishes more thoroughly. When looking for either of these types of portable dishwasher, some of the things you should consider are the number of wash levels, if it has an overflow control, if use of regular dishwasher powder is possible, and whether it has a ‘delay start’ option.
